Seg\u00fan un estudio australiano publicado\u00a0recientemente\u00a0 realizado en la Universidad de Nueva Gales del Sur (UNSW, siglas en ingl\u00e9s).<\/p>\n

El l\u00edder de esta investigaci\u00f3n, Tony O’Sullivan, se\u00f1al\u00f3 que \u00abEstos hallazgos sugieren la necesidad de hacer una nueva evaluaci\u00f3n a los consejos nutricionales que se dan a las mujeres embarazadas\u00bb.<\/p>\n

El especialista remarc\u00f3 la necesidad de tener una dieta equilibrada y aconsej\u00f3 evaluar las recomendaciones que se dan a las madres gestantes para que ingieran alimentos energ\u00e9ticos, seg\u00fan un comunicado de la UNSW.<\/p>\n

En la investigaci\u00f3n se analiz\u00f3 el aumento de peso, la energ\u00eda utilizada (metabolismo) y la ingesta de alimentos en una muestra de 26 mujeres embarazadas mediante el uso de sensores m\u00f3viles sofisticados, dijo Efe.<\/p>\n

Estas mujeres ganaron una media de 10,8 kilogramos de peso durante su embarazo, siete de los cuales era masa grasa que se acumul\u00f3 principalmente entre el primer y el segundo trimestre.<\/p>\n

La acumulaci\u00f3n de grasa ocurri\u00f3 sin que ingirieran m\u00e1s alimentos de lo habitual, a pesar de que su demanda de energ\u00eda diaria aument\u00f3 en un 8%.<\/p>\n

Lo importante<\/strong><\/p>\n

En las mujeres embarazadas se producen cambios dram\u00e1ticos en su metabolismo que les permiten conservar la energ\u00eda adicional como grasa y extraer m\u00e1s calor\u00edas de los alimentos.<\/p>\n

Los dep\u00f3sitos de grasas son de gran importancia durante el embarazo porque ayudan al abastecimiento de energ\u00eda para el crecimiento del feto y durante la lactancia, especialmente en las primeras seis semanas despu\u00e9s del alumbramiento.<\/p>\n

Un exceso de peso<\/strong> durante el embarazo<\/strong> puede traer complicaciones como la diabetes, la preeclampsia y una mayor predisposici\u00f3n a enfermedades card\u00edacas en beb\u00e9, seg\u00fan el estudio.<\/p>\n
